Oak PAC Endorses Attia
Participation in the EFTC would provide additional educational resources for public schools, private schools, and homeschooling families without raising state or local taxes. The EFTC is expected to bring an estimated $500 million annually in new educational resources to Minnesota, with 80% to 90%—up to $450 million—going directly to support critical public school programs. These programs may include after-school activities, ACT preparation, individualized educational expenses, remedial assistance, and tutoring.
Most importantly, the EFTC gives parents the primary voice in deciding how their children are educated, including parents who choose private, religious, or home education.
Other states have already agreed to these benefits. As of mid-September, 29 states with Republican governors have opted into the EFTC for 2027. Democrat governors from two states, Colorado and New York, have indicated they will opt-in. Why not Minnesota? Instead of supporting this, the current administration has chosen higher taxes, adding to the burden on families already facing rising everyday expenses.
If elected to the Minnesota Senate, I pledge to support Minnesota’s participation in the federal EFTC and legislation instructing the governor to opt into the program.
